Whether we like it or not, artificial intelligence it is entering our lives with ever greater force, and this is not necessarily a bad thing. An example is the Play Storewhere with the latest update it is used by Google to generate i highlighted content of an app (do you know what the best apps for creating images with artificial intelligence are?).
What is featured content
For those who don’t remember, the highlighted contents are gods short summaries which Google began testing last month, and which AssembleDebug had demonstrated working in its Telegram channel GApps Flags & Leaks.
In practice, on the Play Store page of an app you will see a tab with the writing Featured content (image below left). Touching the button Show, you will come to a screen with some information on the features of the app (image below right).
They have now arrived on the Play Store
The novelty, in addition to the presence of the section, is that these contents are automatically generated by Google’s AI. Now, after testing them on a small number of users, Google has included them in the latest Play Store update, version 40.2 of 18 March 2024.
To be honest, it’s not the first time the AI enter the Play Store. Google has already started using the technology in the FAQ section of the apps, but i highlighted content they are a sign of what awaits us in the future: the company intends to introduce more and more pervasive AI in our lives.
At the moment, we have not yet been able to see the news as the Play Store has not yet been updated version 40.2 (we are stuck at 40.1.19), but it should arrive soon. We remind you that for update the Play Store you have to open it, then touch your profile icon top right.
Next, tap Settings and then Information. Finally, at the bottom, tap Update Play Store.
