The news continues that confirms that 2024 will be the year of artificial intelligence for Apple: in recent weeks we have often talked about how the Apple company will bet heavily on functions based on generative AI, which will be integrated into iOS 18 (and not Alone). Yet another small confirmation on what we can expect comes from BuyAIDomainswho reported that Apple purchased the iWork.Ai domain.

In itself, this doesn’t mean anything (and obviously there’s no active site yet), but it’s a pretty important clue, suggesting that Apple will integrate artificial intelligence into iWorki.e. its office suite consisting of Pages, Keynote and Numbers.

The idea that Apple’s productivity software could integrate new AI-based functions had already been suggested a few weeks ago by some industry journalists (including Mark Gurman of Bloomberg), and on the other hand it is easy to imagine such a development.

As Microsoft already announced for Copilot in Microsoft 365, AI can help create, edit and review documents: you can imagine functions that perform summaries, generate presentations or help compile a log based on data. The possible applications are truly many, and it probably won’t be long before we find out more: the first news on AI-based functions should in fact be revealed at this year’s WWDC.
