Will iPhone and Mac also have their own Copilot?

apple he said it several times, referring to AI: “we prefer to work first and talk about it later“, and is apparently thinking of introducing the technology to the search tool Spotlight in a way not dissimilar to what Microsoft is doing with Copilot (by the way, if you are looking for a way to use Copilot, take a look at our guide).

The news comes from Bloomberg, that he would find out how the apple house actually stands testing implementing a large language model (LLM) into its hugely popular search tool, available on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

In the last few years, Spotlight has been greatly enhanced, going from a search tool on the device to almost aspiring to become a search engine integrated.

But the current version is still limited to boot apps, basic web searches and extraction of information such as weather and sports scores, and in fact there are better alternatives for those who need more powerful tools (take a look at Alfred, for example).

In this context, the Cupertino company also knows that there is a wide margin for improvement and is working on an update that allows you to perform more complex activitiesswitch between specific features within the app and respond to complex questions.

Obviously thanks to the A.

No word yet on when (or if) this tool will be released, but second Bloomberg Apple managers are considering the project as part ofadoption of AI across all its platforms. And this isn’t the only AI solution that could see the light of day.

The Cupertino company is in fact exploring the potential uses of generative AI in other products such as the automatic creation of playlists in Apple Music and presentations in Keynoteswhile for developers it is implementing a tool Generative AI integrated into its programming software Xcode.

The latter is actually in advanced stages of development, and is expected to be released in 2024while as regards other applications we can only rely on the statements of Tim Cook to investors, where he said to expect several generative AI features throughout the year.
