No secrets in the family: Google wants to simplify password sharing

Google takes another step towards simplifying the management of family accounts, and in particular announces some news regarding the sharing of passwords within the family unit (here are the best password managers of the moment).

In fact, in the last few hours Google has published a new post on its blog dedicated to the management of family account. Google’s commitment in this context has been consistent for years. In fact, we saw the coming Family groupuseful for automatically sharing content on Google Photos, but also sharing cloud space with Google One and payment methods.

The news that Google announced this time concerns the password sharing. This obviously refers to a feature that should take place in the Password manager of Google, the one that is associated with each account to save the access data for the various accounts.

Sharing passwords within the family should therefore allow for share safely the username and password for accessing shared family services.

Just think about two parents who need to access the same school platform as their children, or those who need to access sensitive content concerning their children.

Google doesn’t go into much detail regarding this feature, but we can expect that it will be something similar to the feature that was discovered a few months ago and published on X by the user Leopeva64. Google described the feature talking about it in the present tenseand this makes us think about the new option to share passwords within the family group will arrive shortly. We will return to update you as soon as we have news on its release.
