Premiere who? GoPro Quik aims to be the definitive video editor for desktop and mobile
After months of waiting, GoPro has finally released the first public version of Quik desktop, its powerful video editor already appreciated on iPhone and Android, which is now also available for macOS. The version for Windows will also arrive in the second half of 2024, but we still don’t have a precise date on the matter.
On the occasion of the launch of Quik for macOS GoPro also announced a new subscription plan for its services, called Premium+from the annual cost of €99.99which joins the Standard plan, now available for €49.99 (discounted at €24.99 for the first year). To have Quik desktop you need to be a subscriber, although there are obviously differences between the various subscriptions which we will immediately see.
GoPro Quik for macOS: what it does and how much it costs
With the standard version of the GoPro subscription you will have access to Quik desktop and the synchronization with the app for mobile devices, which allows you to start a project on one device and then continue it on another, whether fixed or mobile.
Among the editing functions, the one that automatically synchronizes the edit points with the stands out soundtrackto speed up the creation of more complex content, but there are also automatic highlightswhich with just a few clicks allow you to obtain immediately shareable results, which can be sent specifically to the associated smartphone.
There is also automatic upload to the GoPro cloud (unlimited for footage taken with GoPro) original quality footage, automatic sending of video highlights to your phone, cloud editing and advanced content management tools.
In addition to these editor functions, the subscription offers 25GB cloud storage for videos not captured with GoPro, a guaranteed GoPro replacement, until 50% discount on accessories at GoPro.com, 100 dollars discount on a new GoPro (maximum one per year) and also live streaming features on gopro.com.
With the level Premium+in addition to the functions just listed, we have video stabilization”HyperSmooth Pro” And 500GB of cloud space for footage captured with any non-GoPro camera.
Finally we also have the Quik-only subscription, which costs just €9.99 per year: Allows you to use the editor without being otherwise tied to the GoPro ecosystem, with full access to all tools, automatic highlights, 47 photo and video filters, 15 editing themes, 300 original songs and 150 songs premium royalty-free.
