This iPhone jumped from 5,000 meters without a parachute. He lived to tell the tale.

The beginning of this story isn’t exactly the best, but luckily there is a happy ending for everyone. On January 5, 2024, Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 experienced a serious problem shortly after takeoff, causing a loss of cabin pressure. The plane later managed to land, and all passengers and crew survived. And this is already good news. But there is another, more curious one, which is the reason why we are talking about it here, on SmartWorld.it.

The loss of cabin pressure caused some small objects to be sucked overboard, in particular an iPhone, which fell from an altitude of almost 5,000 meters and was later found on the ground perfectly intact and working in every part of it.

The iPhone was in airplane mode, rightly so, and it still had an open email from Alaska Airlines, with the baggage receipt, thanks to which it was easy to track down the owner.

Furthermore, it seems that this was the case The second one phone to survive the fall.

In reality the full speed that a device of this type reaches in free fall, given its size and low weight, is not as high as one might think, and it is sufficient that something has further contributed to cushioning the fall, such as the bush that can be glimpsed in one of the photo below, and this explains the “miraculous” rescue.

In any case, just for the sake of prudence, we leave you our page with the best iPhone covers: even the surviving model had one, and who knows (part of) the credit may not be his too!
