Foldable MacBook? Apple is working on it
Rumors about an Apple leaflet are increasingly widespread. In this sense, those coming from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo are of some importance, who stated that Cupertino would be working on a Foldable MacBook. Getting to the heart of the news, this device would have one 20.3″ screen and it would be Apple’s only foldable “with a clear development schedule.” Therefore, according to these considerations, the launch of a foldable iPhone or iPad would be far away.
In fact, through a post on Kuo highlighted: “Recently, I have received many inquiries about whether Apple plans to mass produce the foldable iPhone or iPad in 2025 or 2026. My latest survey indicates that currently, Apple’s only foldable product with a clear development schedule is the 20.3-inch MacBook, which is expected to enter mass production in 2027.”
While waiting to find out more, let’s remember that already in 2022 there was talk of Apple and foldables. In particular, Displat Supply Chain Consultants analyst Ross Young revealed that the company was exploring the idea of producing a foldable notebook.
Later that year, Bloomberg’s Mark German confirmed this report, adding that Apple was interested in launching a laptop with a 20″ display.
With regard to the iPhoneinstead, at the beginning of this year, The Information reported that Cupertino is considering a foldable smartphone since 2018, with various prototypes. Among these, there would be one very similar to a traditional telephone, while another would resemble an iPad. However, no prototypes would pass the quality tests and, therefore, the projects would be “temporarily shelved”.
