The new Windows PC Manager may slow down your PC: here’s why
Attentive Windows users will probably know that recently Microsoft has released its app PC Manager on the Microsoft Store, an app designed to optimize Windows but which in some ways could do the opposite.
After arriving on the Microsoft Store, PC Manager was tested by some users, who noticed a particular feature called deep cleanwhich would be created to further speed up the functioning of Windows 11 on PCs.
In fact, it seems that such functionality do just the opposite of which it is advertised. The deep clean functionality would in fact delete any unnecessary files present in RAM. The positive aspect is that the app obviously frees up space, making it available for fluidity of the system.
The problem is that the deep clean function will go to clean up the named section Prefetch. This section includes the files needed to run recently used apps, so speed up the possible new execution. However, cleaning up these files will make the restarting of the apps in question take longer.
So it follows that the deep clean It actually frees up space but at the same time slows down your PCprecisely because it lengthens the execution and startup times of apps.
We don’t know if Microsoft is aware of this behavior counterproductive of your PC Manager app, and if perhaps you have an update in mind to fix it. Certainly, if you are a PC Manager user, we suggest you do not use the function deep clean for now.
