We thought we had seen it all with Vision Pro but no: here are the glasses with AI
Artificial intelligence is now widespread in many areas and certainly brings advantages for users. In this sense, a product that might surprise you: it’s about Frame AI Glassesa pair of glasses designed by Brilliant Labs, featuring a heads-up virtual display equipped with AI functionality. In this regard, the company has defined them as “the reinvention of glasses for the age of artificial intelligence”.
Getting to the heart of the news, the technology that allows all this is created by OpenAI, all “hidden” behind a pair of lenses equipped with camera, microphones and speakers. The micro OLED display, on the other hand, is displayed via a prism in a portion of the lens. There are two batteries, which are charged via Mister Power, which is an orange clip that rests on the bridge of the glasses (equipped with a USB-C socket). The declared battery life is approximately one day.
The company also stated that “The frame is designed to fit most people. The device weighs just under 40 g and, at estimated normal use, can achieve a full day’s battery life together with Mister Power (included). Frame is totally open source, the design files and code are on
Github. The frame has been designed for an IPD (inter-pupillary distance) range of 58-72mm. This covers most, but not all, people and we suggest using the app Eye Measure to assess whether Frame is right for you.”
The glasses will be available in colors Smokey Black, Cool Gray and H20, and are available for pre-orders at $350. The AI features are free however with daily limitations. In this regard, the details of the premium subscription will be clarified soon.
