Switching from iPhone to Android will be easier, thanks to the EU
The innovations already introduced with iOS 17.4 to comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) of the European Union are not few at all: from the possibility of installing alternative marketplaces to browsers with proprietary rendering engines, apple has implemented many radical changes, necessary to continue sell in the European Union.
Yet, other important news will arrive in the near future: according to a document shared by the company itself, Apple is working to allow the uninstalling Safari and to develop a more user-friendly system to transfer data from iPhone to Android.
These innovations should arrive inautumn 2025but the document in question also refers to a solution for transfer data between different browsers on the same device (this last function should arrive by the end of 2024 or beginning of 2025).
Apple’s document does not specify any other details on the new features, nor whether these possibilities will also be offered outside of Europe.
However, considering that the innovations currently developed for the DMA are not available outside the EU (and alternative marketplaces are disabled when leaving the EU), we can expect the same to happen with the iPhone to Android data transfer system and all the rest.
