Samsung and its never-ending reign in the TV market
Samsung is experiencing a prosperous period in the TV market for several years. They are well 18 years that Samsung is the leader in the TV market, impressive numbers for the South Korean manufacturer.
In the last few hours, data has arrived from Omidiawhich crown Samsung as the main TV manufacturer globally also for 2023. In fact, the data indicates that Samsung holds the 30.1% of market share. In other words, 1 in 3 TVs sold in 2023 was from Samsung.
Samsung says its QLED TV line has surpassed the 40 million of units sold last year, an important figure considering that these products debuted in 2017. Only in 2023 does Samsung report having sold 8.31 million of units of its QLED TVs.
Even going to see the different bands of the market, divided by price, we see how Samsung dominates. Considering premium products, i.e. those that have a price of at least $2,500Samsung holds the 60.5% of market share.
Impressive numbers, which are also reflected when considering products of at least 75 inches.
Even considering the OLED productsrecently launched on the market, Samsung can boast a market share of 22.7%thanks to the million units sold in 2023.
Looking to the horizon, the prospects remain rosy for Samsung. The company recently announced the processor NQ8 AI Gen3, which will power next-generation TVs powered by artificial intelligence. All details that suggest a long life for Samsung’s reign in the TV segment.
