It will be a January full of news: many smartphones arriving in a few weeks
The new year has just begun and the smartphone market is ready to show the best of yourself already in the first weeks. There are many devices on the way: we already know everything about some, because they have already been presented in China, while we still know little or nothing about others.
The first to mention are perhaps the most talked about in recent months, namely the Galaxy S24, which should be presented on January 17th in style by samsung. There has been a lot of talk about it and the item that caused the most discussion was the return of the Exynos processor for the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra should remain faithful to Qualcomm.
The BBK group will certainly be fighting them, led by oneplus and oppo, followed by realme. OnePlus will present the OnePlus 12 and 12R on January 23. The OnePlus 12 is no longer a mystery, because it was presented in China on December 5, 2023, while there is still some doubt around the OnePlus 12R, which should be dispelled on January 4 with the presentation at home, but it should be a powerful device with few frills.
Very different and complicated discussion for OPPO, which will present the Find X7 and the Find X7 Ultra (of which we have seen images), but at the moment we don’t know if they will arrive in Europe, given that in 2023 the Find X6 Pro was a major absentee in the battle between flagships. Therefore, there is a risk that even in 2024 OPPO’s top of the range products will remain in China.
Instead, on January 11th we should see the arrival of the Reno 11 series from OPPO, although it is not yet official. The Reno 11 and Reno 11 Pro were announced in China in November and will occupy the mid rangebut we don’t know if the processors used for the Chinese market will be confirmed for the international one: in China the basic version has the MediaTek Dimensity 8200, while the Pro version has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
Completing the group is Realme, which should launch the new ones Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ at the end of January, but we don’t know if they will be launched globally or if there will be a launch in China first and then a release on other markets.
According to rumors, they should both have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, but their workhorse will certainly be thePay attention to the camera section while remaining in the mid-range.
In the coming weeks we will certainly have more news on the Nothing Phone (2a), the new smartphone from Nothing upon which Carl Pei he launched the first clues with a post on Xin which it shows a stylized image of Aerodactyl, a Pokémon from the first generation (that should be its code name), and reports, in addition to happy new year greetings, a “NewPhone“. It is unclear whether it will be presented soon or whether Nothing will wait until MWC 2024 in Barcelona to make it official.
Who certainly cannot miss its annual appointment is redmi, which will present the new one globally during January Redmi Note 13 family, which includes the Redmi Note 13, the Note 13 Pro and the Note 13 Pro+. Already announced in China in September 2023, the global launch should take place on January 4 and prices should vary between €250 and €450.
Remaining at xiaomi but changing brands, poco should launch globally on January 11th POCO X6which should be the lookalike of the Redmi Note 13 Pro, and the POCO X6 Proannounced in China as Redmi K70E.
Finally, January brings with it new ROG Phones: asus should present the CES Las Vegas (which takes place between 9 and 12 January) the new ones ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro And ROG Phone 8 Ultimate. The smartphones will presumably arrive with the new one Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and supported by one amount of RAM well above average: we should see them on the market at the end of January.
