New record for Spotify: over 600 million monthly active users
Big goals for Spotify. The Swedish company, in fact, has published its own quarterly report and the numbers seem really important. In particular, in the last three months, the well-known music streaming platform has increased its monthly active users by 28 millionreaching the threshold of for the first time 600 million. The revenue in the whole 2023however, were 3.7 billion euros, 16% more than the 2022. Operating income was in the red by 75 million euros, however the company highlighted that advertising revenues reached an all-time high of 501 million euros.
Back to monthly active users – to be precise 602 million – as many as 236 million are Premium users. The rest, therefore, use the service for free, which does not include the possibility of skipping advertisements and downloading songs for offline listening. Furthermore, Premium users increased compared to the fourth quarter of 2022. The growing trend was also recorded in all countries, especially in Latin America.
Again, there are 225 million users who have used it Spotify Wrapped, i.e. the Spotify function that allows you to make a summary of all the songs listened to during the year. By the way, all Premium users, in the United States, have the opportunity to choose from over 200,000 audiobooks with up to 15 hours of access per month. Finally, expectations for the first quarter of 2024 the user base is expected to reach 618 million, while paying customers are expected to increase by 3 million.
