Love watching the music video of your favorite song? Now on Spotify you can get even more involved thanks to the arrival of this option (by the way, do you know how to loop a song on Spotify?).
The news, announced a little while ago directly by the music streaming giant, is accessible from the screen Playing now on supported trackswhere an icon “Skip to video” above the song title. Tapping it will restart the song and begin playing the music video in the center of the screen.
If you want to see the video in full screen, just rotate your iOS or Android device, while to return to background listening you will have to tap the “Switch to audio“.
The tool definitely is welcome and is available in 11 countries: Italy, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, Philippines, Indonesia and Kenya.
Spotify’s global head of consumer experience, Sten Garmark, told TechCrunch that these markets were chosen “based on a number of criteria, including market size and availability of local content support“.
However, there are two limitations. The first is that it is reserved for users only Premium, then to subscribers of one of the paid plans, and the second which at the moment the catalog of videos is rather limited.
In fact, Spotify declares that the function is still available beta and therefore includes a limited catalog of music videos, which includes hits from some international artists such as Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Ice Spice, Aluna and Asake. Garmark, however, reassured that it will eventually include the complete catalog of music videos “thousands” of songs.
As well as apps for iOS And Android, music videos are also available from computers and TVs, and Spotify says that they will strengthen further the bond between artists and their fans.
