VoLTE on Iliad: maybe we’re really there
The Times it could also be on its way to Iliad. We are talking about a technology that was launched years ago, with the main Italian operators having been offering it to their customers for some time. Between these there is no Iliador at least there hasn’t been so far.
There turning point could be around the corner for Iliad customers hoping to receive VoLTE service. In fact it seems that the operator started testing VoLTE on some of its customers who have an active one SIM Business.
For those who don’t know it, or don’t remember exactly what it is, the VoLTE service allows you to take advantage of LTE networks even during classic voice calls. This translates into a better quality of the call itself.
According to what was leaked by some users on the FibraClick forum, Iliad has started activating VoLTE on some of its Business SIMs. Users have in fact spotted the classic icon of active service in the status barand subsequently have verified that VoLTE was actually active during a voice call.
It seems like the spread of VoLTE being tested on Iliad SIMs cover different areas of the territory: some report it from Lombardy, while others from Calabria. It seems like that though is not available for the private customerstherefore only for those who have an active Business offer at the moment.
In fact, there has been some mention of VoLTE service for Business customers discovered also in the official Iliad documents dedicated to the available offers. So it’s quite clear that the operator is testing this service for Business customers for a while next release public. As far as private customers are concerned, there is still a wait. We will update you again as soon as we know more.
