WhatsApp will make further progress in chat management
At the end of August, a system of personalized filters for chats was spotted on the WhatsApp beta channel for Android . And a few days later, with the release of version 2.24.19.25 of the beta for the green robot, new progress is emerging in this direction, a sign that there is the intention to work intensely on the novelty, but also that before the release there could be further changes compared to what we see today.
But what exactly do we see? First of all, it is worth recap the nature of the feature in the pipeline, which will allow users to create personalized lists of contacts and groups, then automatically generate corresponding filters that will be accessible at the top of the chat list.
Here: in the latest beta, we can see some progress, because now a shortcut has also appeared that allows you to quickly add individual contacts and group chats to one of your lists , as evidenced by the screenshot shared by WaBetaInfo that you can see below.
This new option will be available in the chat information screen , making it easier to manage contacts and groups: not only will it be possible to assign them to an existing list, but also to create a new one , and all without having to navigate through the app settings. From the same menu, it will also be possible to not only add, but also remove items from the lists.
The feature, as mentioned, is currently in development and is therefore exclusive to the beta channel: we do not know when the WhatsApp team will have completed it and will therefore consider it ready for distribution on the stable channel, but work seems to be proceeding quickly.
