Chrome will make your life easier with boarding passes too

We are now accustomed to using apps Google in many contexts of our daily life. And among the most used apps of all we find Chrome, the web browser available on all platforms, apart from Android and iOS.

Precisely regarding the version of Chrome for Android devices, there are some on the horizon interesting news. This is a new feature that may arrive in the future simplify the process of managing digital boarding passes on your device.

Boarding passes are no small convenience, given that we’re talking about crucial documents to take planes, trains and means of transport in general. And we all have a bit of anxiety about forgetting them. Have them on your smartphone, which we remember much more easily to take, it is certainly a very useful thing.

What’s new in Chrome should make downloading easier some boarding passes for later load them directly on Google Wallet, the Google app that allows you to save and quickly access digital payment methods and boarding passes.

The functionality that is in development for Chrome was spotted as a flag in a recent version of Chrome Canary. This functionality is called Boarding Pass Detector and we expect it will be able to detect whether there is data in a specific open Chrome tab that is useful for downloading a boarding pass.

Probably, once this boarding pass has been detected, it will be possible to download and upload it to Wallet. The feature would automatically activate the moment it comes identified a URL corresponding to that of one airline company.

At the moment it is not working, not even for those who enable it in Canary. We expect that within the next few weeks it will be operational, at least for those who have the beta.
