Gogoro scooters focus on Apple: here are the Cupertino functions coming soon

Gogoro is working with Apple to implement in its electric scooters some functions of the Cupertino company, including unlocking with the iPhone and other interesting technologies. Before going into details, it may be useful to specify what Gogoro is. This is a company that is based on “battery swap”that is, it allows the battery to be replaced in a few minutes instead of waiting for the traditional charging to be completed.

Returning to the main news, Gogoro users, already now, will be able to add a virtual key to Apple Wallet so as to unlock, lock and start electric scooters with NFC from iPhone and Apple Watch. This feature will be available for future models and for the over 300,000 already in circulation thanks to a backwards compatibility update. In the future, other functions will be implemented such as some shortcuts for temporarily share the virtual key with friends and relatives: simply attach the GPS position of the scooter.

Furthermore, Gogoro is also working for the implementation of Apple Find My technology.

Thanks to it, therefore, it will be possible to locate the scooter but also mark it as lost, for example in the event of theft. The integration of this functionality will be available for the first time on specific new Smartscooters, including Gogoro CrossOver S (the goal, however, is to introduce it across the entire Gogoro portfolio).
