Samsung TV Plus is updated: new design, more channels and particular attention to music

Samsung has announced a major update to its free Samsung TV Plus streaming service, which has grown by 60% in the last year. The app, available in 24 countries and active on 535 million devices, thanks to version 5.2 it will have a renewed design, which will allow users to discover content more easily. This update will be available on Samsung smart TVs released from 2019 onwards, while in early 2024 it will also be made available for older TVs as well as Galaxy tablets.

Also introduced is the section dedicated to children known as Best of Kidswhich will have more than 20 family-safe channels, kids shows and movies on-demand, including Baby Einstein, Barney and Friends, Blippo, Caillou, Kidoodle.TV, LEGO Channel, Moonbug, PBS Kids, Ryan and Friends, Slugterra , Strawberry Shortcake, Teletubbies and The Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3.

The new version of Samsung TV Plus will also introduce a music section which will offer over 200 playlists and more than 40 channels, including Stingray, Vevo and XITE.

Specifically, on-demand music playlists will feature a variety of genres, including decade playlists, hip-hop playlists, pop playlists and more. There will also be playlists dedicated to a single artist, including those by Arianna Grande, Beyonce, The Rolling Stones and The Weekend.

Samsung has also expanded the Movie Hub, offering multiple movie channels of its own, including Movie Hub Action, Movie Hub Holidays and Movie Hub West. Here it will be possible to watch thousands of films, including on-demand, including Collateral, Cruel Intentions, Gladiator, Imitation Game, Silver Linings Playbook, The Hurt Locker and Titanic.
