The Google Camera updates: night time lapse arrives, but not for everyone

  • Video recording mode comes in night time lapse. Google called it Night Sight Time Lapse. This is the feature that allows you to record videos in night mode at increased speed. This is essentially an extension of the short videos that are generated every time you shoot with Astrophotography. The novelty arrives exclusively for Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. It will be possible to record up to 10 seconds in time lapse starting from 5 minutes of video at full HD resolution, and up to 10 seconds in time lapse starting from 20 minutes of video at 4K resolution.
  • Possibility of customize the mode that allows you to shoot while showing the Palm of the hand. It will be possible to decide whether to keep it active all the time or only when the shutter release timer has been activated.
  • The switch dedicated to activating the mode arrives Ultra HDR within the app Settings.

In short, it is a important update for the Google Camera, with which Pixel users will be able to enjoy new shooting modes and new customization.

The hope is that the most interesting innovation, namely the night time lapse, will also arrive on the previous generations to Pixel 8.
