The new electric Renault Twingo: a big step into the future under 20 thousand euros

There’s still some interesting news coming from Renaultthe French car manufacturer that just a few days ago hinted that it will launch a low-cost electric car.

We always come back to talk about it in the field of electric cars, with Renault showing it for the first time new electric Twingo. This is a very interesting car, with a profoundly revised design compared to the current one and which instead keeps faith with the historical line that we have seen with very first generations of the Twingo.

Clearly everything is reinterpreted according to current standards: so let’s see LEDs everywhere, while there is even a OLED display instead of the logo on the front hood. We expect this detail was proposed solely to showcase the concept.

The novelty shown by Renault will stand out for its extensive use of materials recycled and recyclablereducing by 50% the amount of materials used compared to a contemporary electric SUV. It should be noted that this car will mark a step forward, becoming Renault’s first electric car to integrate the function Vehicle to Grid (V2G), allowing energy to be injected into the electricity grid at specific times.

Furthermore, it offers the possibility of independently choosing the most appropriate time to recharge the batteries.

This concept of the new Twingo was shown at the Capital Dayevent dedicated to Amperes, or the Renault division that deals with electric cars. The company promised that the lines shown on the concept they will also arrive for the models that will be launched on the market.

Speaking of market debut, there is talk of a launch that should take place in 2025. Regarding the price, there are some interesting details: there is even talk of a starting price less than 20,000 euros. Certainly a very attractive figure considering the average price of electric vehicles.
