These days prove to be very interesting given that CES is taking place in Las Vegas, the well-known technology fair which hosts all the major manufacturers in the sector who present their latest innovations.

At CES we are talking about many products, especially in the PC and notebook segment and applied artificial intelligence. It’s not even missing from CES Googlethe company that, among the innovations it brought to Las Vegas, showed the innovations that are arriving in the car for Android users and beyond.

Starting from the innovations that closely concern Android Auto, the infotainment system used by all those who have an Android smartphone, we find the innovation perhaps more interesting. Android Auto will be able to to communicate directly with the electric car you are driving, if you own an electric car of course, to inform the user of the car’s charging status directly from Maps.

This feature is potentially revolutionary because it would also allow those who have “only” Android Auto, i.e. an electric car that does not have Android Automotive, to to plan the journey directly from Android Auto, with any stops for charging and estimating residual charge upon arrival also depending on traffic conditions.

At the moment it seems like a novelty intended for the US market, with the first car models to support the functionality that will be there Ford Mustang Mach-E el’F-150 Lightning.

Furthermore, for those who own a car with Google integrated (oddly enough, Google he doesn’t call it Android Automotive), it will be possible to send the navigation path started with your phone via Maps for Android or iOS directly to the car.

Again for those who have a car with Google built-in, they arrive new apps: for some Polestar and Volvo cars it arrives Chrome in beta version, with which it will be possible to surf the internet while always respecting road safety limits. There are also channels with content for childrenprobably to entertain them while traveling, and also the app Weather Channel.

Looking to the future, Google underlines how Android Auto is now widespread globally in the automotive world. Cars with Google integrated are growing, Porsche should be among the next to support it.

And finally, also the digital keys for cars on smartphones continue to grow in terms of compatibility. Hopefully we’ll be able to say the same soon in Europegiven that some of the innovations seem reserved, at least for the moment, for the US market.
