Pixel 8 Pro and its temperature sensor don’t fear Zack: here’s why

It’s been several weeks now Google has revealed to the world its top of the range, the two models of the Pixel 8 series which have arrived on the market with various innovations.

Among the less debated but still interesting innovations of the Pixel 8 Pro we find its sensor for detecting the temperature. This could really be an added value, as it would allow us to estimate the temperature of any object nearby.

Currently someone the functions that exploit this sensor are disabled via software, pending approval from the US FDA. But we can still see this temperature sensor up close thanks to the good Zack Of JerryRigEverythingwho performed one of his usual routines teardown.

In fact, during the presentation phase, Google committed itself to supply of spare parts for the 7 years following their launch on the market.

This aspect we find it actually in the internal constitution of the Pixel 8 Pro, as also confirmed by Zack who attempted the complete disassembly. On the battery, for example, there are even some stickers to concisely guide its safe removal.

In short, everything is removed in a manner simple enough, even for those who have never touched a smartphone to repair it. Towards the end of the teardown we also see the removal of the temperature sensoran unusual component that is capable of measuring the temperature of any object using the infrared technique.
