Samsung Galaxy S21 May 2023 second update fixes reboot and freezing issue

Samsung has recently released a second update for the Samsung Galaxy S21 series in May 2023, following the initial release earlier this month that included the May 2023 security patch. According to reports from a handful of Galaxy S21 users, the first May 2023 update (firmware version G99xBXXU7EWE1) inadvertently introduced a bug that caused certain devices to experience freezing and rebooting. However, Samsung has quickly responded to user feedback and rolled out this second May 2023 update, which reportedly resolves the freezing and rebooting issues faced by Galaxy S21 owners (via Galaxy Club).

The latest firmware version, G99xBXXU7EWE6, weighs slightly over 251MB. Users in various countries, including Austria, Greece, the Philippines, Slovenia, Baltic Countries, Vietnam, Hungary, the Netherlands, France, Poland, Italy, Switzerland, the UK, Thailand, South-East European countries, Romania, Slovakia, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Thailand, Spain, Germany, and the Czech Republic, can now access the update for their Galaxy S21 devices.

Alternatively, users have the option to visit the official website to download the official firmware files and manually update their Galaxy S21 devices using a Windows PC.

Samsung’s prompt response to the reported issues highlights their commitment to providing a smooth and hassle-free user experience. By addressing the freezing and rebooting problems, the company aims to ensure that Galaxy S21 users can enjoy uninterrupted usage without any frustrating disruptions.

It is recommended for Galaxy S21 owners in eligible countries to take advantage of this update to maintain the optimal performance and functionality of their devices.
