A cinema on four wheels: Rivian is (literally) thinking about it

Rivian has received several praises for its electric vehicles, especially because they are dedicated to those who love adventure. For example, the R1T pick-up It is equipped with unique features on the market, including the Gear Tunnel, which is a compartment behind the cab that can be used to store items or to install specialized equipment. These include the Camp Kitchena camp kitchen $6,000. Thanks to this specification, people who love camping consider the R1T pickup a great alternative.

However, without much explanation, Rivian decided to abandon this accessory, aiming for something else (according to at least a recently filed patent). In particular, the company would intend to bring the cinematic experience off-road, launching a mobile projector dedicated to the Gear Tunnel of the R1T.

Going into details, this system includes everything needed for an outdoor cinema: from the projector itself to the roll-up screen and wireless speakers. Rivian has also implemented tiny motors to remotely open the drawer and operate the display surface as well as other components.

The patent application, among other things, is very detailed, with around 36 drawings and diagrams. Therefore, Rivian would have decided to focus on cinema, although it would have been useful to bring the Camp Kitchen back to life or use the Gear Tunnel to mount a solar panel to provide energy when in remote locations.
