They claim that they have managed to solve the mystery of iPhone alarms that do not sound

One of those unsolved mysteries that users of iPhone For quite a few months, it has been having a series of alarms configured on the device and which surprisingly do not sound.

In fact, it is surprising that apple has not even released an update in this regard, but perhaps the obvious reason for all this is that Apple does not consider this circumstance an errorbut many users seem to be not making proper use of a new functionality recently released in iOS.

Now it is believed that the reason why some of these alarms do not sound on the iPhone has been discovered, and it seems that it has to do with the functionality released in iOS 17 called “attention detection”.

As it explains Manzanaattention detection features allow iPhone to check whether you are paying attention to the device at a given moment and automatically take an action.

They give as an example that when you are looking at the device the screen does not dim until you stop doing so, or if you are looking at the phone, the volume of the warning sounds is reduced.

In this way, the fact that many people are setting alarms on the iPhone consecutively, with very little time margin, causes the attention detection feature to consider that the user is looking at the device and therefore the system considers that there is no point in ringing the alarm if you are already awake.

In this way, if you have experienced that any of the alarms on your iPhone have not been ringing recently, all you have to do is deactivate some of these alarms that are very close in time to each other.

The other option is to directly disable the attention detection functions. To do this, open Settings, then tap Face ID & Passcode, and then turn off “Attention Detection Features.”
