You still have time to activate Bluetooth mode on your Google Stadia controller

Stadia had definitively ”closed its doors” ad early 2023adding to the long list of services closed by Google over the years.

The Mountain View company, after having Guaranteed refunds for users of the service, it had also introduced the possibility of using the Stadia controller wirelessly by activating Bluetooth (here we explain how to do it). Bluetooth in fact it is not enabled by default on the device and this forced the owners to have to use a cable to play on platforms other than Stadia (such as smartphones and PCs). Users had the option to activate wireless mode until December 31, 2023 but Google decided to postpone until next year the deadline for using the online tools.

As reported on the site, you will have until December 31, 2024 to turn on the Bluetooth connection on your Stadia Controller. Later, if you choose not to activate wireless mode, you will be able to use your device only as a wired USB controller.

This decision by Google allows all (now former) Stadia users to ”soften” the disappointment of the closure of the service, obtaining a good device no longer limited by the initial choices. If you are interested in the ”controller” topic, we invite you to take a look at our reviews on the subject.
