Beeper Mini aims high: not just iMessage, support for WhatsApp, FaceTime and more is coming

This year has also been very important on the messaging front, especially with regards to platforms that aim to make users communicate more intelligently between Android and iOS devices.

We have seen in recent months Nothing launch itself very briefly into the sector, with its Chats app which then became turned out to be a flop to the point of being withdrawn from the Play Store for security reasons. But someone else is taking the spotlight in porting iOS-exclusive platforms, like iMessage, to Android.

We are talking about Beeper, the app launched fully at the beginning of the year by the creator of the Pebble phenomenon and which in a short time has gained very successful. Last week Beeper relaunched, announcing Beeper Mini, an app that makes it possible to use iMessage on Android, without accessing users’ Apple ID.

What seems like a dream for those who have always wanted to use iMessage on Android without worrying about safety it is a matter of fact.

But this should be nothing more than the beginning for Beeper Mini. In fact, some interesting details have arrived from the company on what to expect in the future.

Beeper has indeed announced that its Mini app will be available soon will arrive support to FaceTimeRCS, Messages, Whatsapp and more, using the same secure client-side architecture. This architecture does not require access to users’ personal accounts for each messaging service by the company’s servers.

The image which you find below corresponds to Beeper’s plan for next year: currently we’ll see Beeper Cloud, the new name given to the classic Beeper, which coexists with Beeper Mini which now allows you to use only iMessage on Android. However, from 2024 all messaging platforms supported in Beeper Cloud will merge into Beeper Mini. We therefore expect that Beeper Mini will arrive in Android, iOS and PC versions.

The company also reported that they will arrive additional features for managing chats, such as importing the chronology chat, text search, backup of all chats, the user interface for foldable devices or tablets, the planning messages and more.

Some of these features they are already present in the classic Beeper, or Beeper Cloud if we want to call it by the new name.

All these platforms will be supported with the end-to-end encryptionand the icing on the cake comes with the promise, again by 2024, of support for video calls with FaceTime. In short, Beeper is set to truly revolutionize messaging, let’s hope it really succeeds.
