We are carefully following the story that Beeper Mini is experiencing, the app launched last week by Beeper and which has arrived as a sort of revolution for the messaging sector.
In fact, Beeper Mini arrived explicitly for bring iMessage to Android, something that many have previously tried to do, but always by remotely accessing the users’ Apple ID. The absolute peculiarity of Beeper Mini, however, is the possibility of using iMessage on Android without any access third parties to your personal Apple account.
From this it follows the enormous potential by Beeper Mini. And this was also reflected in the number of users who tried it during the first days of launch. The same number of users who immediately afterwards saw the first problems accessing Beeper Mini. In fact, Beeper Mini has been inaccessible for a day now, with problems affecting the reachability of the servers. Beeper’s number one did not hide his hypothesis, according to which this is the basis of the problem there would be Apple.
This possibility was actually also discussed at the launch of Beeper Mini, given that it is an app derived from the official iMessage app, and which therefore could imply some safety risks of Apple accounts and content exchanged in chat.
That it was an action by Apple that stopped its functioning there is no confirmation, just as there is no proof. The important thing, reported in the last few hours by the Beeper team, is that the fix for the problem could arrive really early. In fact, the team would be very close to solving the problem, which would only be a matter of time and effort.
In the meantime, the Beeper team has announced that it has taken steps to to remove registering for iMessage all Android numbers who were using the platform. This choice was made in favor of users, given that as long as they are registered with the iMessage service it interprets those numbers as operational, and this could lead to the loss of messages received during the Beeper Mini outage.
In short, Beeper don’t give up and it seems now close to releasing the fix to make Beeper Mini again fully operational. We will return to update you as soon as we know more about its distribution.
