ERAZER renews its “beast” with the new i9-14900HX, and there are also new features for those who want to spend less
Do you remember ERAZER Beast X40? We had the opportunity to try it when it was still linked to the Medion brand. In the meantime ERAZER has become a brand in its own right obviously focused on gaming, and has taken advantage of the stage of CES Las Vegas to present its latest news.
The first news concerns the beast itself, the Beast X40 that we tested last May. Basically, the ERAZER super gaming laptop remains the same. It still has the external liquid cooling system, a feature found practically only in this device, and a very powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 with 16 GB of dedicated memory. ERAZER has decided to offer an updated version of the device, equipping it with the brand new Intel Core i9-14900HX (here we told you about the desktop version).
At his side also comes ERAZER Beast X40ea cheaper version without the liquid cooling system, still equipped with a processor i9-14900HX and flanked by one GeForce RTX 4070 with 8 GB of dedicated memory.
There is no shortage of two 1 TB PCIe Gen 4×4 SSDs and 32 GB of DDR5 5,600 MHz RAM, as well as a 17″ 240 Hz QHD+ display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. And the X40e also has the CHERRY MX Ultra mechanical keyboard low-profile backlit device that we appreciated so much on its older brother. Another peculiarity? The CPU and GPU are equipped with a liquid metal thermal pad.
Finally, for those looking for something a little smaller (16″ instead of 17.3), theERAZER Major X20. In reality, even in this case it is an upgrade of a laptop already available on the Italian market. The new 2024 Major This device also has CPU and GPU equipped with liquid metal thermal pad.
ERAZER has not announced pricing at the moment, but we know that the three devices will arrive on sale starting from February. If for the Beast X40 we can expect the same price range as the 2023 model, for the X40e and the Major X20 we can expect lower prices.
