The new FRITZ!Powerline 1240 AX pairs Wi-Fi 6 and Gigabit Powerline

AVM Italy has formalized the launch of the new powerline kit FRITZ!Powerline 1240 AX, which introduces support for Wi-Fi 6. Going into the details of the news, the powerline component consists of the system that allows the extension of your home local network via the electrical system. All this is made possible by the adapters that connect to the power sockets.

The new FRITZ! kit Supports the standard Powerline HomePlug AV2, which guarantees speeds of up to 1,200 Mbit/s on the power line and up to 600 Mbit/s via Wi-Fi 6 on the 2.4 GHz band. Therefore, this kit allows you to extend the local network by transmitting the signal to the system electrical and consequently creating a Wi-Fi network on the other side. The kit then includes two adapters: the new FRITZ!Powerline 1240 AX and the “old” FRITZ!Powerline 1210 transmitter.

Both devices are equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet port, while the Wi-Fi module supports the Wi-Fi Mesh mode of the other products in the FRITZ! range, ensuring the extension of your local network in a simple and efficient way.

The devices support IPv6 and are backwards compatible with all Powerline devices adhering to the HomePlug family of standards. The suggested retail price for the FRITZ!Powerline 1240 AX kit is 169 euros.
