Future iPhone 16s will have a renewed action button: here are the details

iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max saw the introduction of a new fully user-configurable button, known as Action button. About, MacRumors stated that Apple is considering implementing this button across the entire range of iPhone 16. Proceeding in order, this button, on the latest iPhones, replaces the switch to mute the audio. This is a nice step forward since the Action button can be used for various functions, such as activating/deactivating the flashlight or starting the camera.

Also, on ‌iPhone 16‌ Apple plans to implement additional functionality to the Action button, changing the button from mechanical to capacitive. It is expected that the revamped Action button, developed under the code name Atlas, functions similarly to the Touch ID Home button on older ‌iPhone‌ models or the Force Touch trackpad found on newer MacBooks. In particular, the new button will be equipped with a force sensorwhich will detect changes in pressure as well as be equipped with a touch switching functionality (there are no details on this).

Among other things, the Cupertino company he experimented with different dimensions for the Action button, with some configurations featuring a larger button than the one seen on the iPhone 15. In short, it would seem that Apple is focusing decidedly strongly on this button, even if the information reported above could undergo changes before the official launch of the future iPhone 16.
