Galaxy S24 will have a feature that can save the lives of its users

As the debut date gets closer and closer, rumors about the future continue to emerge Samsung Galaxy S24. In particular, it would seem that the Korean company’s next smartphones will be able to send Emergency SMS via satellite connectivity (similar to what is already possible on the iPhone).

Getting to the heart of the news, a screenshot captured from the future Galaxy reveals Samsung’s new feature: this is “emergency SMS via satellite” and in this regard the company explained that if the user contacts the emergency services when he is not connected to a mobile network, the Korean giant will connect him via a satellite network so that he can send an emergency SMS.

The operation will probably be similar to that already seen on the iPhone, which gives the ability to send text messages with GPS location attached. Among other things, this Apple function has already proved invaluable in some cases, with users in difficulty rescued thanks to satellite connectivity.

Furthermore, it would seem that the functionality described above will be available both on Galaxy S24s equipped with the Snapdragon chip and on those with the Exynos on board.

In the end, the 5G NTN technology developed by the company meets the standards defined by 3GPP (version 17), guaranteeing bidirectional satellite communication and could therefore be implemented on the next Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra.
