Google has clear ideas: the Tensor G4 chip will focus on energy efficiency and more

According to some recent rumors, Google and samsung are working together on the new processor Tensor G4: the main goal would be to improve both energy efficiency that the heat management of the new chip. In particular, this processor could benefit from the latest 4nm process and an innovative production method developed by the Korean company.

Specifically, Tensor G4 would use a FOWLP method (Fan-out Wafer Level Packaging) latest. All this would favor better heat management and energy efficiency compared to the previous model, namely Tensor G3. Among other things, this aspect would be one of the most striking differences between the two chips. At the same time, however, Google is also reportedly working on a possible move away from Samsung, starting with the launch of Tensor G5 – For Pixel 10 – In the 2025.

In fact, Google would exploit TSMC to create the processor of the future, given that the latter is known for better energy efficiency, as demonstrated by the processors signed by Qualcomm and MediaTek and produced precisely by TSMC.

Future aside, the Mountain View giant is focusing on how to best optimize the Tensor G4 chip, which would debut in the series Pixel 9 and Pixel Fold 2.
