Google Photos has a new sharing page, but not for everyone

Updates
  • In distribution on Pixels, but…

With Android 14, a really interesting news is coming, which closely concerns Google Photos: it’s the new sharing sheet, an option that Google is increasingly implementing in its apps. In particular, the screen appears simple to use and above all very complete: at the top right, where the “Image sharing” line is located, the button appears “Edit”which will allow users to select multiple images to share at the same time.

Below the image preview, however, a carousel will appear containing some quick links such as “Create Link”, “Send to Photo”, “Add to an Album” or “Create an Album”. Furthermore, even further down, contacts for direct sharing will be visible – where the app with which the image will be shared is also indicated – and a series of icons that will allow you to choose the application.

The new sharing sheet it is implemented in version 5.65 of Google Photosavailable on Pixels with Android 14.

However, it is not yet seen by Pixel tablet owners. On Android 13 and earlier, the share sheet should not receive any changes. Finally, let’s remember that Android 14 launched on October 4 on supported Google Pixelswhile to see the timing relating to other manufacturers – such as samsung and xiaomi – we refer you to this article of ours.

Update 02/25/2024

Strangely enough, however, it does not yet seem to appear on Pixel Tablets, nor on Samsungs updated to Android 14. The slowest rollout in history is therefore still underway…
