Is Apple slowing down Google’s Find My?

Starting last May we saw Google commit particularly to the creation of the brand new one Find My networkthe one that should compete directly with the location network of Appleon which the popular AirTags are based.

A few days ago we already talked about the hypothesis that Google delayed the launch of its AirTag precisely because of Apple, or rather due to the lack of a protocol anti-stalking on iOS that can alert users when their tracker was followed from another tracker.

The very first announcement of Google’s new Find My network came last May, and that’s when it launched It seemed imminent. In reality, months went by, ea July Google made it clear that the delay was due to Apple waiting on this matter to implementation of the security feature on iOS.

Subsequently Google and Apple have joined forcesprecisely to fully implement this software system to prevent Bluetooth trackers from being used to follow or stalk people without their consent.

To do all this Google has defined some software specifications to be respected.

BigG initially stated that by 2023 these new specifications would arrive, with Apple then having to adapt to implement the security measure under consideration on its iOS. Today, when there is less than a month left until the end of the year, again there is no trace of this solution on iOS, and consequently not even of the new Find My by Google.

The look that is further worrying consists in the fact that Apple usually only makes software updates of a certain importance. This could mean that the news on iOS may not arrive immediately.

In short, one complicated situation for Google, which is forced to collaborate with Apple to launch a product, both software and hardware, which will be actually one of its competitors. At the moment there are no new official comments from Google and Apple, we will return to update you as soon as we know more.
