Official LEGO Polaroid: identical to the original and already bookable, and you can also combine it with the Retro Camera!

The project Original LEGO Ideas was approved in 2022 and its market launch is finally near. Indeed, very close, given that there are a couple of weeks left and that it has already appeared on the LEGO Store. We’re talking about the new LEGO Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera set!

It is therefore not just any Polaroid, but the OneStep SX-70, characterized by now iconic and immediately recognizable shapes. But the LEGO model doesn’t just aim to be identical to the original in appearance: it also reproduces a lot of details, some self-propelled, to make it as similar as possible. On the front we find the rotatable compensation ring and the famous color spectrum which characterizes Polaroid products, while on the back stands out the viewfinder from which you observe the subject before photographing it.

It does not end here. LEGO, to produce the original project signed by Minibrick Productions, obviously had to interface with Polaroid.

The brand’s CEO had only one request regarding the set: that the red button on the front really served to activate some type of mechanism. And so it was: the front part can be opened to insert a film (fake obviously, made by LEGO). By pressing the red button the film will be “printed” by the LEGO camera coming out of the front slot, exactly like in the original model. In this regard, among the bricks that make up the set there are also those for building the Time-Zero Supercolor SX-70 Land film pack And 3 illustrated photos in LEGO style: one portrays the inventor of the Polaroid, Edwin H. Landwhile the other two respectively represent the LEGO House and the sister of the fan designer which inspired the model.

Polaroid OneStep SX-70 LEGO camera is made entirely of 516 pieces. Once assembled it measures 15 centimeters deep, 9 high and 9 wide. So easy to display!
