We have seen in recent years Microsoft take particular care of your Windows 11, the popular operating system for PCs and notebooks, together with all the apps that populate it.
Among the longest-lived ones we certainly find Notepadwhat we call in our area Block notes. And precisely regarding Notepad, some have been announced interesting news.
Microsoft has in fact released a new update for the Canary channel of Windows 11, which is the beta testing version of the popular operating system. As part of this update, a couple of interesting features have been introduced to Notepad.
The first significant innovation consists in character count for all texts written with Notepad. As you can see from the image below, after the update Notepad will show the character count in the entire document. By selecting a specific part of the product will instead also be possible to see partial characters counted within the selected part of text.
This innovation is in addition to the new option for automatic saving of content written with Notepad, which is included in the new Canary build of Windows 11 that is being distributed.
Furthermore, the update also introduces a new option to show widgets onlyand not the news feed that was usually included in the widget section.
The new features we have just described are reserved only for those who have the Canary version of Windows 11, but we can expect to see them on the public version e stable of Windows 11 since the beginning of next year.
