More tracks discovered on Apple’s new HomePod with display

Rumors have been circulating for some time about a possible Apple project regarding the creation of a new HomePod with integrated display. In this sense, with tvOS 17.4 beta Evidence has been uncovered regarding the alleged existence of this Cupertino initiative. In particular, in beta 3released to developers on Tuesday, the presence of a new device identified as “Z314”capable among other things of running an operating system.

Going into more detail, the “Z314” device is powered by a A15 Bionic chipthe same one with which the iPad is equipped mini 6. The code also reveals the presence of internal development versions and above all that the device may have reached an advanced stage of development. Again, tvOS 17.4 beta 3 implements the SwiftUI framework to HomePod firmware as well as hangtracerd, which is a system tool used to debug unresponsive UI in iOS apps.

Previously, i.e. by analyzing tvOS 17.2, it was discovered that Apple was running Apple TV on modified versions of iPad mini 6: according to rumors, this HomePod model should in fact have a display of the same size as the one mounted on the iPad mini (8 inches).
