OpenAI revolution: CEO Altman fired, co-founder Brockman also says goodbye

On Friday the leaders of OpenAI have decided to fire the CEO and co-founder of the company, Sam Altman. The Board of Directors, in fact, stated that “he no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI.” In short, an undoubtedly important decision for the future of the company, immediately followed by another decidedly impactful move.

In particular, the president and co-founder of OpenAI, Greg Brockman, he decided to leave the company after Altman’s firing. On X (formerly Twitter), Brockman stated that “I’m super proud of what we built together starting in my apartment eight years ago. We’ve been through tough times and great times together. But given today’s news, I’m leaving. I continue to believe in the mission of creating safe, generative AI. bring benefits to humanity.”

An unexpected decision, especially considering that when OpenAI announced the “leadership transition” and that the CTO Mira Murati would become interim CEO, it was specified that Brockman would retain his role in the company (but relinquish his role as president).

However, the now former president has decided to embark on a new path and therefore say goodbye to OpenAI. Therefore, a period of big changes awaits the company.
