We’ve often talked about how our smartphones can help us take care of our own plant friends. The care of plants, both indoors and outdoors, is a non-trivial thing that can give a lot of satisfaction. In the last few days we have tried an app called Plant Parentvery interesting for the care and management of plants.
Taking care of plants doesn’t just mean watering them
A few months ago we talked about Planta, one of the most complete apps for plant care, both for those found at home and for those living on the balcony or in the garden. And we’ll tell you right away Plant Parent he is a worthy rival.
The Plant Parent app comes with a nice interfacenot consistent with Google’s Material You but still simple to interpret and navigate.

We talk not only about giving it water, but also understanding how to give it (from under the saucer or from above), if and when to clean it, when to change the soil and when to provide it with fertilizer. All reminders arrive as classic notifications directly from the app, so they can’t escape you.
- Start the diagnosis of the plant. This can be done by photographing the diseased part of the plant, starting a sort of Google Lens inside the app which allows you to identify which disease it is. In this section it is also possible to consult which are the most common diseases, reading any remedies and treatments.
- Start the research of a specific plant. This can be done by name or from a photograph.
- Consult i detailed care plans for all plants in the database. This is the section that we liked most, and which also distinguishes Plant Parent from valid alternatives. In this section you will also find curiosities and practical suggestions for the care of every plant you have.
- Consult and manage all the plants you have saved in your digital nursery.
In short, you will have understood that Plant Parent could be the turning point for all those who are not exactly green thumbs, but also for those who are passionate to plants and what they desire inquire about at a deeper level than the hearsay and suggestions found generically online.
