Embark Studios has made the release of THE FINALS official: the free-to-play team-based shooter, in fact, is already available on Steam, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5. Going into detail, players will be taken directly into Season 1, where they will celebrate the glitz and glamor of Las Vegas.
In fact, in the game, competitors will compete in virtual arenas inspired by iconic places in the real world. The battles will take place in completely destructible environments thanks to server-side destruction and movement technology of Embark, this ensures players experience every action and every consequence simultaneously, whether it’s a piece of furniture being smashed to pieces or an entire building collapsing.
Furthermore, every player will be able to create its own unique competitor, from stealthy dancers wielding razor-sharp swords to deadly pandas armed with rocket launchers. Again, the best competitors will rely as much on intuition as aim, using a combination of environment, weapons, gadgets and specialties to defeat opponents and achieve fame and fortune.
As far as reception goes, THE FINALS has already registered excellent numbers on Steam although there was some criticism. In fact, in the first 24 hours there was a peak in the number of players online at the same time 200,000 users: a very positive result. Moving on to the criticisms, however, the most widespread was that relating to a certain slowness of the game, especially compared to the beta. In this regard, the developers stated that the speed of the game has not been affected and that this sensation could be linked to the FOV positioned by default at 71.
