Threads in Italy is no longer a chimera

During this year, Meta’s choice to launch Threads, a new social platform which is in fact the natural antagonist of X, the social network we know well as Twitter, made a lot of noise.

Since its launch we followed carefully the development of Threads, also due to its rapid growth in terms of users. Clearly his close bond with Instagram also helped a lot in this. And since its launch we have also been following the possibility of accessing it from Europe.

That’s because Threads was announced exclusively for specific geographical areas, among which there were not all those included in Europe. This is because of issues of privacy and of management of personal dataaspects on which more restrictive regulations apply in Europe than in the United States.

Initially it was also possible to use Threads from Italy, with some tricks that Meta subsequently blocked. But for those who were hurt not all is lost.

In fact, according to what has just been reported by the authoritative The Wall Street Journal, Threads is about to debut in Europe.

Meta would indeed finally implemented the necessary changes to launch Threads in Europe, and comply with what is required by European regulations on privacy and management of personal data. Among these changes would be the possibility of view the contents shared on the platform also without having an account. Furthermore, it should be possible delete your Threads account without touching that of Instagram, which was previously not possible and which had caused quite a few eyebrows to turn.

In short, thanks to these changes we will be able to see Threads officially also in Italy. The positive outcome for Meta will certainly be a significant increase in active users. The figure is estimated at around 40 million. Threads will therefore become globaland the duel with Elon Musk’s X will be total.
