Tinder aims for increasingly authentic matches: here are all the new features

Tinder has announced the launch of a series of functions for the profile and discovery sections, In particular, the update was inspired by the recent Future of Dating Report of Tinder, which highlighted that young people aim to change the ways in which they meet online. In fact, 69% of Gen Z users agree that dating standards need to be revamped to adapt to a more modern and diverse society.

  • Profile ideas: This feature allows users to express their particularities and show all their sides. By selecting and responding to suggestions, you can start engaging conversations that go deeper than a simple “Like” or “Nope.”
  • Profile Quiz: Discover your compatibility potential with possible partners thanks to a fun quiz. At the end you can share the answers to the quiz on your profile, offering your interlocutors a further insight into your preferences and interests.
  • More information in the profile: It will be possible to share important information about you: from your pets to your drinking habits, from your zodiac sign to your love language.
  • Advanced Reporting: The updated reporting system allows you to report specific profile elements, allowing users a safer and more respectful experience.
  • New Attractive Design: Implemented a refresh of the user interface: improved and updated animations and a new “It’s a Match!” screen, designed to make every “Like” or “Nope” on Tinder even more engaging.
  • Night Mode: From today, Dark mode is available in Tinder settings for night-time activities or discreet encounters in public.

“We know that the new generation of users prefers values-based qualities such as respect (78%) and open-mindedness (61%) rather than appearance (56%). Young users want to create authentic connections through shared interests and common causes, without wasting time on “games” like previous generations. They want to represent their true and authentic self and expect the same in return”explains Mark Van Ryswyk, Chief Product Officer at Tinder.
