WhatsApp follows Telegram for a feature (and it’s not the first time)

WhatsApp has presented a new update via the beta program TestFlightintroducing the version 23.25.10.70. In particular, this version includes a feature dedicated to transcription of voice messages. This is an option already seen on WhatsApp beta for iOS (we are referring to version 23.9.0.70, launched about 7 months ago) and on which the developers are continuing to work, perhaps also “urged” by what was recently announced by Telegram.

Additionally, the same beta version includes another feature that allows channel owners to invite new admins. This option was created with the aim of providing channel owners with advanced administrative control as well as an improved delegation tool. So, some beta testers will be able to experiment with the new “Invite administrators” function, located on the channel information screen. This option allows you to assign administrative privileges to selected contacts, with the ability to invite up to 15 contacts. Obviously the invited contact will have to accept the invitation before gaining administrative access to the channel.

Next, they will have the opportunity to edit essential details of the channel, including the name, icon and description.

Additionally, channel administrators will be able to change channel settings and control which emojis are allowed for reactions. In short, this is certainly a good step forward, especially because administrators will finally be able to actively contribute to the creation of channel content given that they will have the ability to generate and share content as well as manage channel updates.
