WhatsApp may soon lose its solitude

WhatsApp always captures a lot of attention, especially because it is one of the most used instant messaging apps in the world. This is why we are particularly interested in it what’s cooking for the future.

In recent months, WhatsApp has received a series of very interesting innovations, both in terms of functionality and in terms of graphical interface. We have seen the possibility of using two WhatsApp accounts on the same device, HD images and videos, voice messages on Android Auto and much more.

Clearly Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, intends continue on this path and it could soon introduce a new feature that would make WhatsApp less “isolated”. In fact, so far, there have been very few references and links to Instagram and Facebook, the other two platforms owned by Meta, on WhatsApp. This may soon change.

WABetaInfo has in fact uncovered important references that indicate the future integration Of Instagram on WhatsApp.

This integration would consist of the possibility of associating one’s Instagram account with that of WhatsApp, with the aim of publishing messages Status updates which are created on WhatsApp also on your Instagram profiles.

The novelty obviously looks like a move by Meta further increase interactions of its users on all its platforms, including social ones. This functionality of cross posting would be disabled by default, also for reasons of privacy given that not all those who are our contacts on WhatsApp are also contacts on Instagram, and vice versa.

The image that you find above shows how the banner appears, located in the app Settings, which should allow you to associate your Instagram accountas well as your Facebook profile, to your WhatsApp profile.

Currently the novelty has only been noticed by some WhatsApp users who are signed up for the beta. However, the functionality that allows you to share WhatsApp status updates automatically on Instagram does not yet appear for them either.

We will update you again as soon as we know more.
