WhatsApp now allows you to set messages from your chats for up to 30 days so that you don’t forget anything

WhatsApp has launched a new feature that will make organizing your chats easier than ever. Now you can pin messages to the top of your conversations, and the best thing is that these messages can stay there for up to 30 days.

Setting a message is simple. You just need to press and hold the one you want to highlight and select the Pin option. By default, the message will remain fixed for seven days, but you can adjust this duration according to your preferences, whether for 24 hours or even an entire month.

“You can unpin a message at any time. If a message is not unpinned, it will be automatically unpinned when the set duration expires,” WhatsApp explains in a blog post.

The versatility of this function goes further, since You can not only pin text messages, but also photos, videos, emoticons or even surveys.

You can select 24 hours, 7 days – which is the default option – and 30 days

But that is not all. If you are an administrator of a group chat, you have an additional role. You can make pinned messages in the app only visible to other administratorswhich is quite useful for coordinating events or ensuring that certain key information is available to those who need it.

“If you pin a message in a group chat, a system message will be shared with everyone in the chat indicating that a message was pinned and by whom. Users cannot see a pinned message if they join a group after message was posted, if they lost or deleted their chat history, or if they deleted the message before it was posted,” they add.

WhatsApp’s big competitors, Telegram and iMessage, already offer a pinned message option for users in both individual and group chats. At the moment, it is unclear if WhatsApp plans to extend the pinned messages feature to Channels as well.
