We welcome Android 15: what’s new with the first Developer Preview

Google just released the first Developer Preview of Android 15. This is the first official step for the new release of Android, which will arrive during this year with the first public betas and then arrive in a stable version towards autumn.

Android 15 DP1: what’s new

Availability and release schedule

The first Developer Preview of Android 15 is officially available for Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The same is also available via the Android emulator.

Installation can take place only manuallysince this is not a public beta.

Regarding the next Android 15 updates, Google lets us know that at least one will arrive second Developer Preview within March. From April the first ones will arrive public betas of Android 15, which it will be possible to join from the dedicated Google page. These will enter the Platform Stability version in June, while the release of the first stable version is expected after July.

We can hypothesize a first release in August or September at the latest.
