This function will be developed by Cerence Inc.one of Skoda’s partners, which will provide artificial intelligence integration, so that cars can access ChatGPT’s huge database: they will not be simple voice commands to interact with the infotainment, but will be able to provide additional information on the vehicle and the journey, also considering the growth of its capabilities over time.
All this will be possible with the latest generation of infotainment that will be available from mid-2024. His operation it will be simple: when the driver needs it, he can activate the voice assistant with an “Ok, Laura” or by pressing the dedicated button on the steering wheel. If the request cannot be satisfied by Skoda’s system, it will be forwarded to ChatGPT.
Klaus Zellmer is keen to point out that the chatbot will not have access to your personal information or vehicle data and that all interactions with it will be immediately deleted once completed, to ensure high level data protection, which is a priority for Skoda.
