Beeper Mini brings iMessage to Android, finally the perfect solution?

The field of instant messaging currently sees several protagonists, with platforms managed by third-party companies, such as WhatsApp and Telegram, being the most popular and those managed by Google And Apple which represent a point of reference for many.

Recently we have seen Google tease Apple several times regarding the failure to adopt the RCS protocol, which forces all those who intend to communicate between Android and iOS to use the old SMS, considered no longer secure for obvious reasons. But in all of this we have also seen the launch of some services that aim to make compatible platforms that are not natively available, such as iMessage and Android.

In this context we recently saw the launch, and subsequent debacle, of Nothing Chats. It was an app launched by Nothing which, relying on the Sunbird service, promised to bring iMessage to Android. This actually happened, but it entailed enormous risks for users’ privacy and security.

For this reason it was withdrawn.

But last year we also saw the launch of Beeper. This is a service designed and developed by Migicovskythe mind that gave birth to the glorious Pebble brand, and which allows you to have in a single app all major platforms of messaging. So let’s talk about WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Messenger, Google Messages, and also iMessage. So with Beeper it is You can use iMessage on Android and even on Windows.

Beeper integrates the end-to-end encryption and it seems to have all it takes to become a global messaging platform. We have been using it for several months now and have not encountered any critical issues. Again from Beeper, further news has arrived: let’s talk about Beeper Mini.

Beeper Mini is an app for Android devices that allows you to use iMessage. The graphical interface is very well looked aftereven more so than the Beeper app, and it feels like a fusion between that of iMessage on iOS and Google Messages on Android.

Beeper Mini allows you to fully carry the famous blue bubbles on Android.

The very interesting thing is that Beeper Mini does not include access to your Apple ID to work. The creators reported that they managed to “reverse-engineer” the app, meaning modifying the standard iMessage app to use its same protocols but also work on Android. This is a huge step forward for security and privacy.

Beeper Mini therefore allows you to do everything you would do on iMessage for iOS with an Android device. Using it without access to your Apple ID involves unable to synchronize content with other devices, but you can also use it by signing in to your Apple ID.

From the point of view of privacy, the fact that its creators have is also commendable made available the project on GitHub. This is a huge step towards transparencyalso exposing oneself to potential plagiarism given that the code is in clear text.

But this makes it possible for everyone to inspect it, and possibly highlight critical safety issues.

To use the Beeper Mini app, all you need to do is download it from the Play Store (below you will find the direct button). The app is available for free for 7 days and then requires a subscription of $2 a month.
